Meet the Animals

Poke-ahontas

Poke-ahontas

This is Poke-ahontas she is an African Crested Porcupine - only a week old here in this picture! When she grows up her quills can get as long as 12 inches! She is a beautiful baby who loves her bottle and loves to snuggle! You can see her in the Cute & Cuddly, Soft & Snuggly Show!

Bessy

Bessy

Bessy is a donkey born in 1991. She joined Noah’s Ark near the end of the year of 2000. She came to us from a ranch in Davie. Bessy was born to be in show business and is one of the animals that loves the petting zoo the most. She does not like to be left behind when the trailer leaves the ranch. She has been in many plays, and has made a lot of special appearances for other special events, such as an appearance at Muvico for the opening of Shrek. She was in an episode of the TLC show Get Packing as a prize. (Sort of) She enjoys the special attention she receives and sometimes demands it. Bessy is the matriarch of all the animals and either bosses them around or mothers them.

This is Tobias, he is a Ring-tailed Lemur! He is native to Madagascar! His favorite song is “Move it, move it!” He was born in 2005 in Miami. He loves to play tag!

This is Brier when he was a baby! Usually every spring we have new little kids added to our family! We currently have several Tennesse Fainting Goats - yes they fall over! Jojo is one of our bottle-babies who is now one year old. She faints every time she jumps into the trailer!

Chickens & Ducks

Chickens & Ducks

Many of our chickens are bantams, they are smaller than normal chickens. They are also very sweet. We find many people that are really scared of chickens, but when you meet Jasmine, and Lil Pete you will realize how snuggly chickens can be!

Maverick

Maverick

Maverick is a 13 hand, black pony. Born in 1997. He was only three years old when he came to Noah’s Ark with Dallas and Wrangler. Maverick was named because of his carefree and wild nature. He was not able to work until 2002 after his training. He replaced Wrangler full time in 2003 and has been doing an excellent job. Maverick is the trouble maker of the equine group and enjoys being a pest to the others.

Dallas

Dallas

Dallas is a 13.2 hand, black pony. Born in 1985. He came to Noah’s Ark in 2000 and was purchased with Maverick and Wrangler from a ranch in Dade County. The three ponies lived in squaller, they lived on stale bread and one bucket of water per day, due to the ranch not having running water. They were not provided protection from the rain or sun. They only had the shade provided by the sparse trees on the ranch. The ponies are founding members of the Noah’s Ark Team and were the first animals used for the very first few jobs.

Lakota

Lakota

This is Lakota, he is our mini-horse part unicorn. We are just sure that he is magical, because he has a way of making everyone smile! He was born in 2002. He is incredibly strong, and loves pulling his cart!

Morpheus

Here’s Morpheus our Ball Python. He was born in 2005. In case you heard of the python that ate the aligator- don’t worry it wasn’t Morpheus- he really doesn’t care for gator. He likes large mice by candle light, with a little Mariah Carey playing in the background.

Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell

This is Tinkerbell, born on our farm in the spring of 2005. She is a Zebu (a miniature brahma). She is small but boy is she fast! She has often given our staff quite a work out trying to get her into the trailer! As she gets older the bump on her neck will get a lot larger, making her look a lot more like a brahma.

Bunnies

Bunnies

Many of our bunnies were donated to us from families that couldn’t take care of their bunnies anymore. We are grateful for our new additions, and we think the bunnies love all of the loving they get from all the children at the parties we do.

Petting Farm

Petting Farm

This is one of our petting farm setups. For our FARM party we setup an 8’ x 20’ fenced area. Chairs are put inside, and the children can hold the smaller animals! Food and brushes are provided for the children to interact with the animals.

(Canopy used only when needed.)
